When I talk about the sea, I talk about waiting and longing. The feeling when returning from it and looking at it envelops you with wholeness and completeness. It's like looking at the stars, but closer. Closer to you. Near you. Like you want to be a part of that completeness. To each in his way.
When I talk about the sea, I talk about names. Experienced names, unnoticed names.
Names that were and are reflections of the times. Majestic was replaced by the simple. Strangers changed their own and their changed strangers. As if we were talking to the person closest to you as if you wanted completeness.
When I talk about the sea, I talk about a glance, passing in the night, neither saying hello nor getting to know each other.
When I talk, I talk about names that have passed with their trajectories.
The coded text was transmitted to the gallery from the other side of the dam using a light beacon. Then I read and passed Fernando Pessoa's line. And visitors were invited to become telegraphists. Maybe that was the beginning.
It all started with the thought that the people we meet or will meet will be and are like passing ships. On different trajectories at certain times. With their names and countries. Names change, and so do ship names. And the moment you enter the harbor, I welcome you. In your own words. Out loud. Although you probably don't hear it. A section of text disappears in water and wind. I read to you, knowing we won't meet again.
And if so, then you will be different. I read about countries, I read about unions, and cheaper labor. I read, romanticize and interpret with facts and each title in its unique way. My poetry for passing ships is a romanticized but social and political story at the same time. My dear, timber, you will sail, and I will have words ready for you.

The project will come together from the names of 140 ships that passed by, examining the history of their names — poetry readings for incoming boats will be filmed and recorded. Photographed, filmed material and printed queues for ships will form into volumetric constructions in space and be the beginning of a book of poetry.
